Montessori Teacher Education Online Student Orientation

About the eCampus Student Orientation

Welcome to the Department of Teacher Education and more specifically, the Montessori Teacher Education coursework.  I am so excited for you to begin this next step in your academic career.  My name is Dr. Natalie Danner and I will be your advisor through this coursework.  I am easiest to reach by email at dannerna@unk.edu.

Welcome to the UNK eCampus Student Orientation. This orientation will give you information on subjects like Canvas, UNK's email system (LoperMail), registration, library services, and more. This information will assist you in your face-to-face and/or online studies and will make it easier for you to find what you need.  Please also make sure to complete the SmarterMeasure assessment.

You will also learn best practices for being a successful learner, time management, and the support services available to you at UNK and eCampus.  You may want to bookmark any websites you find during this orientation to give you easy access to them later.

If you are not planning on reading the entire orientation, please be sure to at least click on each section and read the headings. You may find that UNK offers some services and resources that you did not previously know about. Also, please be sure to check out the last module - eCampus Student Resources - for some valuable links to resources available to online learners.

Accommodations

If you feel you may need accommodations or services based on a disability, you may access "Honor Code & Accessibility Accommodations - Module 6" for more information.

Are online classes right for you?

If you like to manage your own time and need a flexible class schedule, you might have already registered for or are considering taking online and/or blended (part online and part face-to-face courses. They allow you to study anytime, anywhere and still other important responsibilities in life.

To take online classes, you need to LEARN to LEARN online, and SmarterMeasure is a resource that can be used to access your technical skills and get feedback on your learning style. SmarterMeasure can help you work on developing and strengthening your skills as an online learner.  This is mandatory to complete.
